The IT Mushroom Family Story
IT Mushroom isn’t just a business name, it’s part of the Womble family story. Mandi’s love for mushrooms started as a teenager, thrift shopping with her grandmother. On one of their trips, they found a set of 70s mushroom canisters that went straight into her first “starter trunk” for the home she dreamed of one day. That little find sparked a lifelong love and today, the Womble home is filled with mushrooms on the shelves, the walls, and even the front door. For Mandi, each one is a joyful reminder of her grandmother.
When Chris set out to create a business, he wanted a name that represented growth, the kind of growth that helps small businesses thrive. When the word “mushrooming” came up, it clicked. It was the perfect fit: a nod to growth, a tribute to Mandi, and a reflection of what matters most to their family - technology, connection, and community.
The Wombles are more than business partners; they’re a family of six (plus three dogs, three cats, leopard geckos, and their two newest additions, a pair of horses). In their free time, you’ll often find them bowling, hiking, or spending time at local community events. For Chris and Mandi, IT Mushroom isn’t just about technology. It’s about building smarter systems, cutting stress, and helping other small businesses grow, all inspired by their family roots and their love for the community they call home.

With 20 years of experience in the fast-paced world of veterinary emergency medicine, Mandi knows how to stay calm under pressure and build systems that work when stakes are high.
